This Weekend
Moerenuma Park turns into a 50-minute fireworks show this Saturday, choreographed to music and co-designed with figure skating legend Mao Asada — Hokkaido's biggest fireworks night of the year. It lands the same weekend Furano throws open its wineries for the annual grape harvest, so pick your Saturday: sparks over Sapporo, or a glass in hand under Shimizuyama's hills.

"This panoramic flower garden is Shikisai-no-Oka in Biei, taken on a gorgeous summer day in mid-August. One of the few flower fields in the area still worth visiting in the green months. Beautifully landscaped, soft-serve ice cream, and there's an alpaca farm on-site. Worth the visit and entry fee." -Anonymous submission, taken on Aug. 16th, 2026

Minori
mee-no-ree
"Harvest," or literally "bearing fruit." Early September in Japan is often called minori no aki — "the season of fruition," the point where summer's growing turns into something you can actually eat or drink. It's why Furano's grapes are ready for pressing this week, and why farmers' markets across Sapporo are suddenly full of the season's first real haul.

It's Here: Pique's New Caffeine-Free Afternoon Energy
I quit my afternoon coffee. Not because I wanted to — because I found something better.
You know that wall you hit every day around 2–3 PM? I used to just accept it as the cost of doing anything. Another coffee, a quick spike, then the crash — and somehow I'd still feel dehydrated by dinner.
Then I tried X·E Fountain, Pique's brand-new electrolyte energy drink, and I genuinely wasn't ready for how good "no crash" could feel.
No caffeine jitters. No 4 PM slump. Just clean, steady energy that actually hydrates me instead of draining me. It's built with a premium Vitamin B Complex for natural cellular energy, Magnesium Malate + Taurate for real focus, and a full electrolyte blend that makes it feel like a treat, not a chore.
The cucumber-celery-lime flavor is so crisp and refreshing — it's basically stolen my afternoon coffee slot completely.
